- [Instructor] Resin jetting has somewhat different considerations than the other resin technologies. Different manufacturers call their variation of the technology by different names, like material jetting or PolyJet. We'll call it generically resin jetting here to be descriptive. - [Instructor] Resin jetting printers spray droplets of one or more materials onto the previous layer and build up a print from the platform. Because the material for each layer is sprayed onto the previous layer in liquid form, the prints have to be fully supported. Printers that use vats of resin can produce structures that bridge between supports or build up at an angle. But resin jetting cannot spray onto air. Because builds need to be supported at full density it's necessary to use a support material that can be melted or dissolved away after printing.
