- So earlier, we spent some time on the overview for prototyping. Let's spend some time on the overview for manufacturing materials and processes. They need to be looked at pretty differently, even though you'll see a lot of overlaps between the materials and the processes. Once you're down, and you're doing the final design, the final iteration, you've been through engineering for manufacturability, and you're now getting into what processes, and what coatings, and what packaging is going to be used in the end, the things that you'll need to be considering are the costs, the performance, and of course, all the functionalities that you needed to do. Now, when you're looking at manufacturing materials and processes, for the most part, it's usually done by somebody else. Design agencies, even OEM design companies, they usually source out their manufacturing.
