Inserting pins
- [Instructor] When I open the c02_03 assembly, I see that there's a hole placed axially through two components. A bolted connection could be used to hold these in place, but what I really want to do is set these together with a pin. There are multiple Design Accelerators for pins based on the type of geometry you need to hold together. The pin that I need is a Radial Pin. When the dialog appears, it asks me to select a starting plane. I'll use my XZ Plane, and then I'll select an existing hole. This pin tool will measure the hole, and I'll click and ask it to show me the pins that are available. I'll select a Slotted Spring Pin, and you'll see it predetermines certain sizes. One arrow will drag the location of the pin. The other arrow will drag the length of the pin. So I can shorten the pin and roughly locate it. I want it to be recessed inside the diameter of the collar, so this pin will work great, as the next larger standard pin would exceed the size. When I'm finished selecting…
