- Okay, you found a board and schematic file from the open source community. You figured out how to download it. You've uploaded it to your favorite PCB house and now you want to get some practice soldering. How do you know what parts to get? Well, there's a neat feature in Eagle CAD, so let's take a look at that to generate a bill of materials. So I have Eagle open already and we're going to go ahead and open up the schematic for that Adafruit board that we downloaded earlier. And that was that Metro Mini Rev B. And we open that up and we can use this really cool feature here. It's called ULP, or a user language programming, and when I click on that, it allows me to run scripts and the first one here is Export a Bill of Material and I click Okay. And you'll see already, this is looking pretty good. I actually like to go and click here on Values instead of Parts. And it actually tells me, look, I have one, 1K what?…
