How 360-degree images help in job-site inspections

(upbeat music) - One of the things a construction manager has to do on a big construction site like this, is document progress, and as-built conditions, so in a room like this, we've got a lot of things that are inside the walls, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and we want to know where those things ended up in the walls before those walls get covered up and we can't see it anymore, so what we used to do is come in and take lots of pictures. In a room like this, there could be dozens of pictures in order to document everything that you need to see. Then you had to store those pictures away and hope that you could find them later, and find the ones that happened on the dates that you wanted to look at. There's an easier way, now. This is a Ricoh Theta 360 degree camera. It's pretty cost-effective, it's very affordable, and all I have to do is set it up here in the middle of the room, walk out, press a button here on my tablet or my phone to trigger a picture, and I immediately have a…
