Extrude the plan and adding headers
- [Instructor] In this video, we will extrude the walls to create a 3D model, and add headers above the door and window openings. To begin with, orbit the model by dragging the mouse wheel. Right now, the view is in Parallel Projection mode. This is good for floor plans, elevations, and sections, but it's not ideal when you're working in 3D. A better choice is to go to the camera menu and choose Perspective. In perspective things that are farther away from the camera are smaller. And this is the way that our eyes work. In parallel projection things that are farther away maintain the same relative size. And I can compare the two by pressing the J key to toggle between perspective and parallel projection. I'll press J again to go back. Now I'd like to pull the walls up and create a 3D model. I'll use the Push/Pull tool, right here, or type P on the keyboard to activate that tool. Then click on one of the wall surfaces, and move the cursor up. Let's type in eight apostrophe for eight…
