Join George Maestri for an in-depth discussion in this video Export to Blender 3D for rendering, part of SketchUp: Tips & Tricks.
- [Narrator] Hi I'm George Maestri,…and today we're going to take a look at photo realistic…rendering of Sketch Up files in Blender 3D.…Now Blender 3D is a free 3D application…that has a really nice photo realistic renderer,…and I find it's a great way to get…a low cost rendering system for Sketch Up.…Now when you use a third party renderer with Sketch Up,…you typically have to export out of Sketch Up…in a known file format, and then import it…into the rendering system, and Blender is no different.…
So here I have a simple scene, and before we export,…we want to make sure that we have…everything as organized as possible.…So I've gone ahead and made sure the walls, the roof,…and the floor of this building are all components…as well as the bed, which was just a simple component…dragged in from the component library.…Now when we export, we can export in a number of formats.…Now Blender accepts a lot of different formats,…and I find for Blender the best one is OBJ or FBX.…
Now if you're using Sketch Up Make,…you may be limited to COLLADA.…
