Exploring CNC milling and turning

(upbeat music) - Hey guys, today I'm here at SureFire, one of the best manufacturers of flashlights and tactical equipment in the world. I'm standing in front of this Index machine, which is a mill turn machine and this is really the Ferrari of machine tools. This thing has everything you could ever imagine you could do on a CNC machine. Over here you've got driven tools, you've got OD turning tools, you've got a subspindle, you've got a main spindle, you've got all your turning tools up here, you've got live milling. This whole thing flips around and you can machine the front side or the back side of the part. There's even a chip conveyor and a parts catcher that can grab your finished part and take it out of the machine. This thing really has everything. Now most of your ops are not going to have a machine quite this cool, this is really some of the top machining equipment you can have in a manufacturing facility, but lesser machines are going to have a lot of the same things, like…
