Discussion of additional power transmission tools
- [Instructor] I wanted to take a moment to take a look at some of the other tools that are available in the power transmission. Beyond the O ring, splines, cam, bearing, belts, keys, gears, and shafts that were created in this section, there are other tools as well. An online version that resembles the machinery handbook is available directly from this pulldown. You can calculate drum brake sizes, disk brake calculators, band brake, and conical brakes as well. There's also a standalone bearing calculator, separated hub calculator, slotted hub calculator, and cone joint calculator. A power screw calculator, and then a tolerance, limits, and press fit calculator. As the name says, these are simply calculators. They will not generate geometry, but they can help you determine what the proper geometry size is to sketch and revolve or sketch and extrude or what fillets or chamfers you can add to your model to make sure that it performs properly.
