Design for resin: Overview
- Designing a part to be printed on a resin 3D printer is significantly different from traditional subtractive manufacturing, and even from 3D printing that uses filament. - In this movie, we summarize the things to keep in mind when designing a part for resin 3D printing. - You may also want to research in more depth how to minimize peel forces, and how to avoid creating features that capture air during the print, known as Cups. As with all 3D printing, complex pieces are, for the most part, no harder to print than simple ones. This is fundamentally different from traditional manufacturing like milling or C&C machining. There, every detail requires more machine time and some operations just aren't possible. The extremely fine resolution possible with resin printers really enables creation of intricate parts. This, in turn, can reduce the number of parts in an assembly, and the need for fasteners. - [Woman]…
