Defining the Home Grid
- [Instructor] Once you've established your display units you'll also want to control the grid settings. The grid is set to an arbitrary size currently. And the spacing between the grid lines is arbitrary as well. We want to control that so that for example we can look at the grid and instantly determine the scale of objects. To change the grid settings. One way to do that is to right click on any one of these magnet icons here on the main toolbar. Right click on that and you grid and snap settings dialogue. Go to the home grid tab. And we'll see the current state of the grid. What we're seeing here now is that the distance between two adjacent grid lines is 25.4 centimeters. Let's bring that down to one centimeter. Type in a one and press enter. And now we have a lot tighter spacing to the grid. We can see that here in orthographic views.
