Creating solutions to short-term job-site needs

(upbeat music) - Being a construction manager involves way more than just being able to follow the plans and specifications on a project. Why is that? Well, really simple, those plans tell us what this project is supposed to look like when it's done. It doesn't tell me how to get from the ground, to this building, so if you want to be a construction manager, and take those plans and figure out how to build a building or a bridge or a road, you also have to be able to solve logistical challenges, things like, how do we get on and off this job site? Where am I gonna deliver my materials? (cars honking) Where are people gonna park? Those are all things that have to be pre-planned in order to stay productive out here on the job site. There's also a lot of challenges that are faced during construction, involving things like access, or for example, how are we gonna power our tools on this project? There's no electricity out here yet! So we have to write the electrician a contract to bring…
