Creating a harmonic cam based on the function
- [Instructor] Calculating cams can be a complex process. As part of the design accelerators, the cam generators allow you to calculate and generate cylindrical cams, linear cams, or disc cams. When I launch the disc cam generator, I have a choice as to whether or not to create a component or use it as a simple calculator by using the no model option. I'll select the cylindrical face to place the cam around. The starting plane. I can use preview to understand what some of the terminology means in relation to the inputs. I'll set my basic radius, make sure the cam width is what I need. I can choose a different follower radius and then make modifications, such as the motion end position and the lift at the end. I can also choose what motion function will be used and when I put in the entries that I have, I can calculate the cam. When I'm done, I'll select okay, I'll approve the creation of the file, and it will generate the cam in my assembly. Now to check it, I'll return to the…
