- [Instructor] Calculating cams can be a complex process. As part of the design accelerators, the cam generators allow you to calculate and generate cylindrical cams, linear cams, or disc cams. When I launch the disc cam generator, I have a choice as to whether or not to create a component or use it as a simple calculator by using the no model option. I'll select the cylindrical face to place the cam around. The starting plane. I can use preview to understand what some of the terminology means in relation to the inputs. I'll set my basic radius, make sure the cam width is what I need. I can choose a different follower radius and then make modifications, such as the motion end position and the lift at the end.
