- Today I'd like to look at filters. One of my favorites is seeing which receptacles are actually on a circuit or not. So what we're going to do is we're going to identify them as being red if they're not on a circuit. That way we know they need to be circuited. To get started under projects, let's go new. For the template file, let's click browse. Let's grab electrical default. Then let's hit open. Let's hit okay. Under floor plans, let's go to one, power floor plan.
Now let's draw some walls in, so click the wall button. On the draw panel, click the rectangle button. Perfect, hit escape a few times. Now let's go to the systems tab. On the electrical panel let's grab some electrical equipment. We'll grab lighting and appliance panel board. We'll grab a 225 amp one.
I'm going to stick it in the wall here and hit escape a few times. Let's select it and make sure it's on a distribution system. It is. Now let's drop in some receptacles. Let's go to electrical again. Let's click on device. Now I'm going to put a bunch in here. Wonderful, okay. Now let's go to VG.
Let's go to filters, and there's none in here. So down here let's go edit new. I want to make a brand new filter. There's already a few that come pre-defined, but I want to make a brand new one, so click on new right here. Let's call it electrical fixtures. Let's click okay. Now let's scroll down 'til we find electrical fixtures. Now for a filter let's filter by, click the drop-down, circuit number.
If our circuit number is less than one that means it's not circuited. I'm going to click apply, I'm going to click okay. Now, in this view, I want to bring in that filter, so let's click add, let's grab electrical fixtures. I'll click okay. Now, for the projection surface for lines let's click override. For the color make it caution red. Click okay.
Click okay, click okay. Now we see these items are not circuited, so if we select one, click power. Let's grab that panel. We probably should have named it, but we can later. Notice that it's circuited. If we click edit circuit, add to circuit, click finish editing, everything black is good. Everything red still needs attention.
Select our panel. Panel name, PP-1, and apply. We can edit the circuit, PP-1. Now we now exactly what's not circuited just by a quick visual look. Now we can apply this filter to any view we want if we want to see what items are not circuited.

Q: Why can't I earn a Certificate of Completion for this course?
A: We publish a new tutorial or tutorials for this course on a regular basis. We are unable to offer a Certificate of Completion because it is an ever-evolving course that is not designed to be completed. Check back often for new movies.
