Creating an Arnold disk area light

- [Instructor] The Arnold area light has some key attributes that are not available from the Maya area light. Most importantly we have the ability to choose a different shape for the light. For a Maya area light, it's always going to be a quadrilateral. But an Arnold area light can be a cylinder or a disc. And that comes in handy, in cases such as this where we've got this circular light fixture. We can create an Arnold disc light. To isolate the effects of the different lights, let's turn off the lights that we have in our scene currently. Drag a rectangle in the Top view to select all four of those area lights, and in the Channel Box, set their Intensity to a value of zero. Now they're turned off. Let's create an Arnold area light. From the Main Menu choose Arnold, Lights, Area Light. In the Channel Box let's rename it, we'll call it light ceiling disc and press Enter. The first thing we want to do is change the…
