- [Man] Resin prints are being used in many applications where detail and precision are key. Some resins can also withstand high or low temperatures that would destroy a filament-based print. - [Woman] Resin printing has made major inroads into dentistry. Dentistry is an ideal application for resin 3D printing since every piece is customized, and fine detail is important. Resin printing is commonly used to replace plastic casting. In the past, a patient bit down into molding material, and then a plaster cast was formed from that mold. Now the patient's teeth are scanned, and a 3D print is created from the scan.
