- [Narrator] Scientific evidence shows that reducing greenhouse gas emissions is no longer enough to stop the climate change and its consequences. We are already experiencing climate change impacts in average temperature, changes into seasons and an increasing intensity and frequency of extreme weather events. Now, is the time to make adjustments to address and adapt to both actual and expected climate change-related events. According to the United Nations, climate change adaptation refers to adjustments in ecological, social or economic systems in response to actual or expected climatic stimuli and their effects or impacts. In simple terms, climate change adaptation is about changes in processes, practices, and structures by countries, communities and businesses to respond to the impacts of climate change that are already here and predicted to take place in the future.
