Choosing and applying tape

- [Instructor] It might seem obvious how to put glue or tape on a print bed, but small differences can have big effects on your prints. In this movie, we'll go into detail about how to put these materials on your platform for the best printing outcomes. If your manufacturer recommends using glue or hairspray on your platform, spread it in a thin layer, being sure to cover evenly, but not too thickly. A layer that's too thick might goop up the nozzle while printing the first layer. Covering a print bed with tape is a bit more subtle, though. Any imperfections in the tape, like air bubbles, overlapping or misaligned adjacent strips, or damage from previous removals, may be visible on the bottom surface of subsequent prints. Imperfections like these also make it more likely that you'll cause further damage to the surface while removing prints. There are several strategies for avoiding these imperfections.
