- [Instructor] Let's take a moment now and summarize what we've learned in this chapter. First, we began by discussing the business pressures on manufacturers. Numerous examples were cited of how manufacturers are responding to pressures and articulating the exact pressures themselves that are on the manufacturers to shorten product development cycles, come out with more creative solutions for customer requirements, and create products that are smart and connected at the same time. We then talked about how a key differentiator and a strategic advantage for manufacturers is developing and delivering rapid value to customers. We introduced the concept of Agile in the new product development process and how it can be a key component for delivering value rapidly even in the context of a traditional waterfall or state gate environment.
