- [Instructor] Now that we understand the key elements that build a change order and how to arrive at a change order price, the next step is putting together a change order proposal. A change order proposal may be named a request for extra, a change order proposal, a construction bulletin proposal and so on. Regardless of what name you use, it's essentially the same thing. A proposal for additional compensation for additional work. There are a couple different formats that you can use depending on what works best for your customer. My experience has always been to use a proposal that offers some detail of your pricing, such as a break down of the major components of the proposal.
