Basics of prototyping a new product

- We're going to talk about an overview as it pertains to prototyping. Now, there's a big difference between prototyping and manufacturing when it comes to materials and processes. So just focusing strictly on prototyping. We'll look at types of compositions. Like, how do you prototype in glass if you need to use glass, or if you would rather use glass in production, what would you substitute the glass with. Or, when you're looking at natural materials, say like leathers or wood and things like that, what would you prototype in that and then the types of polymers that are available and ceramics and metals and so forth. So, normally what you'll see in prototyping has a lot to do with availability. And when it comes to prototyping, the processes that are available are your hand tools that are easy, to like grinding, drilling, sawing, things like that and then the more advanced tools are going to be like CNC machining or you're going to get involved in some laser prototyping and some…
