- Let's take a look at some of the accessories you're going to want to purchase when you set up your electronics work bench. The first thing you do, after you've selected a soldering iron, is make sure you pick up a couple of extra tips. They're very inexpensive. And as you can see, there are a lot of different sizes, from these chiseled tips to a flat tip and a couple of fine points. Once in a while, I will use a fine point like this. And then, this is my go-to. It's a small chisel tip. This is the one you really need, and you're going to use 90% of the time. But when you pick out a soldering iron, make sure that there are interchangeable tips. Because when you need a fine point tip, you need it, and it's worth it.
