- [Instructor] Suppose we have a situation like we see here where we have a cantilevered beam. Now our column still wants to go from column one to top-level column two, but the problem is we want our cantilever to run uninterrupted and be supported by the column underneath. A very typical situation. But what we can see if we select this column, and if I look at level one to level two, you notice the top offset is some funky number because that's the width of our beam. We don't want to have to guess what that is so we can actually use the Attach function. Let's do that. To get started, let's jump into Revit, and I want to go to Open, I'm going to browse to where I'm keeping my exercise files, and I'm going to find my Attach Revit model. Of course, you can use any Revit model you want. I'm going to click Open. Now what we'll see is in 3D is all of our columns are going from level one to level two.
