4D modeling

- Four-dimensional modeling can further help you and your team understand what to expect in terms of the sequence that you have defined. This is also beneficial for the designers and the client. There are, of course, many applications that will allow you to do this. Synchro Pro and Navisworks are some of the more popular applications to do this. This process involves taking a model that represents the entire scope of the project and linking elements within the model to the schedule of activities. This is a finite assessment of both the structure to be built and the schedule of how things will occur. With that being said, there are a lot of factors that will benefit this effort, such as working closely with your scheduler, superintendent, project engineer, and your VDC or BIM coordinator. Initially, the VDC or BIM coordinator should be able to take the schedule and the building information model and create a 4D model.
