Adding comments: C Essential Training: 1 The Basics

Comments allow you to write notes to yourself or others inside source code. The compiler ignores any text inside a comment. C language comments start with the /* characters and terminate with the */ pair. C++ style comments can also be used, where two slashes // comment out the rest of a single line. Comments can also be used to disable text for debugging purposes.
