The weekly review with your manager
- The key to a great performance evaluation is twofold. Documenting your work, and staying properly connected with your supervisor. Documenting your work is really straightforward. Every week, you're documenting how you use your time, and what you accomplish, including dates, times, and all the specifics. Think about the tasks, milestones, projects. Key conversations, key meetings. Deliverables created. Goals accomplished, and so on. And be sure to include challenging things as well. Deadlines missed, critical feedback, et cetera. Now, don't stress out. It should only take a few minutes, and the file can be as simple as your handwritten or typed notes about your work. It doesn't have to actually include copies of reports, emails, or anything else. Just your notes, honestly summarizing what's going on.
