- Not all lists are created equal. The most simple purpose for a list is to help you remember something. But lists can also be used to help you decide something big. Enter the pro and con list. Any decision you make in life, for the most part, will have good aspects and bad aspects. Whether you're changing jobs, moving, or buying a car, using a pro and con list can help you when there's no clearcut yes or no answer.
