The power of intention setting

- Hi, I'm Carrie with Chill. When you set intentions at the start of your day, you bring into focus how you want to feel. When you start your day with a fresh perspective and a positive attitude, you find that your days are filled with less stress and more productivity. So let's practice together. Take a comfortable sitting posture, one in which you can feel an active spine, the present moment awareness. Let your hips, your legs and your whole body settle into this moment. Notice the activity in your spine. Sense of lightness, ease, calm awareness, washing over you. Notice if any tension is held in your jaw, your shoulders. And with your next breath, invite a sense of softening into your jaw, into your shoulders. Allow your eyes to drop down toward the floor, even closing if that feels good for you. At your attention settle on your breath, feeling this sense of calm wash over you. As you breathe in and breathe out, enjoy this moment consciously arriving into your day. Let your breath be subtle and be easy, an anchor in which your attention can return to over and over again. Sometimes as you settle into stillness you become quite aware of thoughts coming and going, of tension being held in your body. Let this awareness inform you, all the while turning your attention back to your breath. This time let your breath slow down just a bit. Taking this deliberate inhale and exhale, invite your mind to become clear. Breathing in and breathing out. Clear mind. Breathing in and breathing out. Clear mind. As you continue with this slow deliberate breath, invite an intention into settling the body. Breathing in and breathing out, calm body. Breathing in and breathing out, calm body. Now imagine taking this clear mind and calm body into purposeful action throughout your day. Breathe this intention into your being. Breathing in and breathing out. Clear mind, calm body, purposeful action. Clear mind, calm body, purposeful action. Clear mind, calm body, purposeful action. Now let your breath go a little deeper, a little brighter, as if activating and enlivening your whole sense of being. Breathing in deeply through your nose and out through your mouth. Again, in through your nose and out through your mouth. Once more, in through your nose, out through your mouth and let your eyes drift open. May this intention setting give you a fresh start to your day. Thank you for practicing with me.
