- Okay. You're almost there. Less than 24 hours to go. Don't sit around getting stressed out. Instead, I have a few suggestions that will help you focus and get ready. Step one, I have to say it. Study your review. Just like your resume before an interview, know your materials very well. Next, you're going to make a checklist. It doesn't need to be more than three or four issues. These are things you want to say or discuss that you just can't forget. Great, so make a checklist. It might have a tiny note to remind you to ask about a particular future project or how to gain more experience in an area you know is a problem. Or maybe it's just a reminder to ask for something you want or need. If you feel there are can't miss topics, write them down and take the list to the meeting. The next topic is to focus on practicing your punch line. Why are you special? You've thought about it, written about it, and now it's time to start talking about it.
