- Charles Schwab, the famous investment banker, provided my very favorite quote. He said, "I consider my ability to arouse enthusiasm the greatest asset I possess. The way to develop the best that is in a person is by appreciation and encouragement." I love this quote because I genuinely believe that when people feel good, they do good. When I feel enthusiastically appreciated, I'm encouraged to take action. This is what I call executive presence. Executive presence is how every person attains a top job, closes that killer deal, or gains true reverence from supporters. When you demonstrate executive presence, you are communicating much more than I am the boss here. You are gaining an opportunity to personally connect and inspire action from your audience, whether it's a single person or a large group.
