The intentional meeting framework

- So every meeting that you ever attend has an arc, a beginning, a middle, and an end. And when you recognize that the beginnings of a meeting are expanding and the end of the meeting are closing, then you're going to want to take some steps that help people to run the meetings in a way where everyone shares and then comes to decisions, opens, and then closes down. So the steps that you can take throughout the meeting are to make sure you're always paying attention to how ideas are being exchanged, how the time is being conducted, who has the speaking baton, whether or not we're leaving questioning and going into solutions. And all of that is the stuff that we agree upon and talk about at the very beginning. So, the way to run really effective meetings is to start by organizing how you want to run the meeting at the beginning and get a collective contract that the agenda, remember versus the purpose, is organized.
