The importance of meditation and stillness

- I try to begin every morning with meditation. And while I don't always succeed in doing this, it's very often my intention. Many mornings, though, it's an ongoing battle with my mind. On the one hand I know that meditating, even for 10 minutes, will add so much value and ease to my days, but another part of my brain is already in doing mode. Starting the morning with meditation, though, brings greater attention to everything that I do throughout the day. I am more present and connected. We know this about the experience of flow as well. When things become inherently enjoyable, and when we are thoroughly engrossed in the activity at hand, there's not enough attention left over to worry about other moments or times.
