The importance of diversity
- As you think about crafting your team, one of the things that I very much think about is diversity and inclusion, because if you have a team of people that all look and think the same, your performance, and your thought process, and your outcomes, are going to be very underwhelming. And so I have very carefully crafted a team that has a diverse set of backgrounds, that live in a diverse set of geographies, that have different perspectives, some are more global thinkers, some are more local thinkers, and even my leadership team is divided in half; I have five regional people that are focused, and I have five global people that are focused so that on any given day, when I'm thinking about decisions, I'm balancing what should be right for global, but also what is right for local, and so that's just one area that I think is an example of the importance of thinking about making sure that your team is diverse.
