- Let's talk about an intentional opening framework for a meeting. What steps can you take to take charge of the meeting with clients and run a productive meeting with your colleagues? I like to remind myself, "Run a meeting or run amok." Everyone attending a meeting has questions. They're busy, they're coming from other meetings, they have to wrap their heads around what they're up to. They want to know, "Why am I here? What's this about? What do you need from me? Who else is at the table? How long will this take?" Also, you're about to use their time. For some, especially some of your busier clients, time is more precious and less available than their money. The intentional opening says to the clients, "I'm going to use your time wisely." And it says, "This is all about you." So let's take a look at a five-step process.
