- Now that we've discussed product and price, the next things we're going to discuss are placement and promotion. Now, placement is when you really figure out where are people going to be able to buy your stuff. So, are you going to sell your things on Amazon? Are you going to sell things on your own website? Are you going to license your products out to another retailer, you know, to a third-party? Or are you going to just sell direct B2B? Depending on how you're going to sell your products or service, or how many sales channels, frankly, that you're going to use, that is what placement is referring to. And that's really important because you want to think about it. If you're just going to sell on Amazon, that's okay, but you're paying 15 to 20% for the privilege of selling on Amazon.
