- [Instructor] Now, why am I emphasizing an ethical foundation to meditation at all? Well, it's really, as I've been suggesting, because the mind can wind up embroiled in very unhealthy states of mind and easily, in some way, get caught up in what might be most appropriately described as delusion, although we wouldn't see it that way. And when we are driven by a kind of preoccupation with ourselves, in the smallest sense of the word, those personal pronouns, I, me and mine, my life, my ambition, my career, my needs, I, I, I, me, me, me, my, my, my.
