The common mistakes mentors make

- Sometimes we can get a little intimidated when it comes to mentoring because of all these myths that are in our heads. So let's take some of those myths and let's bust them. Myth number one: what you're trying to do is create a mini-you. No, what you're trying to do instead is help them become their best selves. Myth number two: you have to have all the answers. What you're trying to do instead is you're sharing perspectives and helping them arrive at their own answers. Myth number three: you have to be right all the time. What you have to do instead is understand what they need and give them what they need at the moment. Now, when you take all of these myths and you're able to bust them, guess what? You're a lot further along on your mentorship journey than you think you are.
