- So here's what I call the big three. If you were stop watching at the end if this course then I want you to take these three things with you, they're the most effective parts of making cold calls that will lead you to success. So my first one is to smile and dial. It's cheesy, but it's effective. If you listen to any course about cold calling or read any book, they'll say smile and dial, people can hear it down the phone. Remember that when you give someone a cold call, you interrupt them in their day, they're busy doing something else, they're having another conversation, they're halfway through another piece of work, and suddenly their phone rings, bang, it's somebody they don't know talking about something they don't understand, so you have to be happy and you have to be smiley because, just to give you an example, if you were to be interrupted in the day and somebody calls you and goes, hello Mr. Blogs, I want to…
