- Meetings (sighs). I'll bet you've got horror stories about meetings. If we could get rid of the horror stories, we'd be headed in the right direction for better meetings, wouldn't we? This topic warrants much more than a short video, but I do have some tips that will take the horror out and clarify your roles as a manager in meetings. Perhaps the most important of all is to have a clear desired outcome. I mean, why are you meeting? What are the outcomes you want to reach as a result? Do you know what these will look like? I often ask managers these questions, and they don't really know. Well, if you don't know before the meeting starts, how can you expect the meeting will be successful when it's happening in real time? It's not possible. Have a clear desired outcome.
