- The process of organizing your article ideas was about determining what your readers need to know, but writing the thing is all about considering what they want to know. Keeping your audience's interest in mind and letting that be your guiding principle as you sew all the parts together. Take the lede, or the beginning of your article for example, this is where readers dip their toes in, deciding if they want to invest the time to read further. It's where they get a sense of both what you're going to be talking about, your subject, and how you're going to be talking about it, your approach and your style. So if you want people to actually read this article, you need to spend some time thinking about it from their perspective. What's going to draw them in and make them interested.
