Work your priorities by time available

- If your goal is to deliver quantitative results on your priorities at any given time, then working your priorities by time available is a great way to do that. This category of mode based work is probably the easiest to start with or fall back on because it is the most easily measured. Keep in mind that you should have as many increments of time as you need to use, but also as few as possible. I like to follow the rule of three in this instance, so I suggest that's where you start as well. Here are the three increments of time that I use to help me identify tasks I want to prioritize based on the time I'm able to spend on them. Number one, five minute mode. Having a five minute mode is especially useful when you know you only have, let's say, a half hour between appointments because instead of scanning your to do list, looking for tasks to try to do in that time span, you can simply do quick math and try to…
