Work to attain a balance between warmth and strength
- In this lesson, we're going to talk about attaining a balance between warmth and strength. Here's a little pop quiz for you. If I were to ask you to think of an internationally known person you could tell your deepest, darkest secrets to and feel safe doing so and who is simultaneously a powerhouse, who comes to mind? How many of you thought of Oprah? I did. This concept of attaining the balance between warmth and strength is about first identifying how you're hardwired as a leader. Do you trend warm? Or do you trend strong, with strength? If you're someone who trends warm, wants to be liked, you could possibly benefit from marrying in some strength to your leadership style. Or on the opposite end of the spectrum. If you tend to be a very strong leader, strong communicator, kick off your next meeting with a smile. Ask everybody how their weekend was. It's not necessarily about over-correcting in one direction or the other, it's about attaining a balance.
