- Well written acceptance criteria can make all the difference in user stories. When a user story is first written, it may not have much for acceptance criteria and as it gets prioritized, more clarity in the acceptance criteria is added. To be ready for a sprinter iteration, the acceptance criteria needs to be well worked through with the team. Great acceptance criteria does not contain every single piece of detail needed to develop everything about the user story. But it does contain enough for the team to get a good start and get the feedback loops going during the iteration. To get started, you want to identify common scenarios, rules, logic, conditions, and nonfunctional aspects of the users goal or user story. This is the content needed for acceptance criteria.
