(upbeat music) - [Speaker One] What's more important? Purpose or passion? Purpose and passion, sometimes, get used interchangeably, but it's actually really important to differentiate between the two. - [Speaker Two] At work, passion usually means being really excited about something or having a lot of enthusiasm. - [Speaker One] But purpose, on the other hand, is the belief that the work counts for something, that it has meaning. - [Speaker Two] So, there was some interesting research documented by Chip and Dan Heath on this. And they articulate the difference, measuring both purpose and passion individually. - [Speaker One] And they found that people who had neither purpose nor passion, they didn't think things were exciting, and they also didn't find any meaning in it.
