- My promise in our time together is that I will challenge and hopefully change the way you think about trust. Trust is a really funny word, it's a word that we use a lot. But what is trust and how does it work and why is it so important in our lives? So when you really understand the ins and outs of trust, so many things become clear in your personal and professional lives. You start to understand how trust is essential to navigate risk, to cope with uncertainty, to be vulnerable, to place our faith in unknown people and unknown things. A really helpful way of thinking about trust is to think about in relationship to money. Now money is, I think, easier to understand because money is tangible, it's something that we can touch and we can measure it so it has an agreed value. Money is very important in our lives, money allows us transact. Trust is different, trust essentially is a human feeling, we know when we feel trust, but it's not something that we can easily measure or agree on what it is. So the way I think about it is that if money is the currency of transactions, trust is the currency of interactions. And when you start to see it like that you start to see why it's so fragile and why it's so valuable in our personal and professional lives. My passion is to really challenge and change the way people think about trust, by giving you a precise language and clear way of thinking about how it works, what it really is, and why it's so valuable in different areas of our lives.
