- Here's a situation just about every sales associate runs into when it gets busy. You're having a conversation with one customer, and there's another customer waiting to talk to you. Right, it's frustrating for both you and the customer. Now for the customer, minutes can feel like hours when they're just standing around waiting with nothing to do. And for you, you're so anxious to hurry the current conversation along that the customer you are talking to can feel like they're getting rushed. So it can be a really bad experience for everyone if you don't handle it right. All right, here's some simple advice. Briefly recognize the person waiting for you. Let them know that you see them, and that you'll be with them as soon as possible.
