- Let's face it, sometimes you just feel like you need some time to think. I know we work in a fast paced environment, our teams are racing through their work. It's easy to demand answers or feel like others are demanding answers from us on the spot. Let's explore some scenarios when it might benefit the team and the results to offer the team time to ponder and circle back later when everyone has had some time to think. The first scenario is when someone or a team is being asked to make a decision. So this is when you're asking someone to make a decision or perhaps they're asking you to make a decision. Now realize in decision making the important thing is to assess someone's readiness or assess our own readiness to make a decision. And be transparent about that readiness to the other person. Is it that you don't have enough information but the decision's urgent so you're uneasy or perhaps you know there's more information coming but not yet available and the decision can wait. So…
