What role does trust play in decision-making?

- Now, we've talked about the trade-off between agreement and time required, and we've considered some other factors to help you pick your approach. But there is one other systemic cultural factor that can alter the slope of your decision curve perhaps more than any of the others. And that factor is trust. When there is more trust between you and your team members, they are far more likely, all other factors held constant, to accept and commit to the decisions that you make independently. Think about it. If you trust a leader and they say, "Here's a decision, here's a direction we're heading," even if you might have chosen a different path, you are likely to get on board and get behind that decision, right? But if your trust level is low and that manager has little credibility in your eyes, your faith in and commitment to those decisions might be drastically reduced.
