What does project management software do?

- If you're only tracking a few tasks, it's fine to build a project plan on a spreadsheet or a word processor. But if you've got more than 100 tasks to keep track of, you should probably use true project management software. The most common example is Microsoft Project but you can find lots of other tools by searching the web. So how do you choose the right one? Start by listing the features you need and the criteria that matter to you. Price is always on the list but you might also be concerned about things like security, the number of users, and ease of use. You can often get great insights from online user reviews. Any other features you need can go on the list too like whether there's training available or whether there's a phone app. Then evaluate the differences and select the software package that meets your needs for the lowest cost. The right project management software can help to make you and your team a lot more efficient. So choose a package that fits your requirements and your budget and invest the time to learn how to use it correctly.
