- Peter Senge said, "People don't resist change, "they resist being changed." Before your coaching engagement even begins, I suggest you go through your own process to consider what you really wanna change. A common mistake is to think too narrowly about what it really means to change. To avoid that mistake, Marshall Goldsmith offers a terrific method. When you think about change, becoming the kind of leader and the kind of person you really wanna be, you should ask and answer four questions. One, what do you wanna create? Two, what do you wanna preserve? Three, what do you want to accept? And, four, what do you want to eliminate? I'll share an example from a leader I coached.
